Federal Materials Company
Federal Materials Company a Division of Harper Industries supplies concrete, sand, gravel and pre-cast and construction products. They play a major role in commercial development and residential building throughout western Kentucky and northwest Tennessee. Bridges, educational facilities, hospitals and residential homes, FMC has proudly served businesses, government and individual homeowners for over 70 years. The company is currently made up of 93 full time employees, of which 11 are women. While one of their goals is to be the Provider of Choice in their industry, FMC also strives to be the Employer of Choice by supporting the Harper Industries Educational Initiative to provide employees the opportunity to continue their professional development. Harper University was established to provide accessible resources for employees to continue their education.
Denton & Keuler, LLP
Denton & Keuler, LLP was established in 1979 with the formation of a law partnership between David Denton and Tom Keuler. The firm currently has 14 attorneys and a support staff of over 20 people. Sixty Three percent of the firm is comprised of Women. They were the first firm to offer a female a full partnership position in the region and currently have 3 women partners. Denton & Keuler has long realized the importance of women and their leadership rolls in the work place. The firm has received the 1988-89 BPW Business Equity Award, 1993 International Association of Administrative Professionals Business Award for Excellence and the 2002 Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month Award. Denton & Keuler encourages its attorneys and staff members to use flexible working hours in order to tend to family needs and encourages them to take an active part in our community and civic organizations.
Bristol Broadcasting Company
Bristol Broadcasting Company is a privately held corporation that employs nearly 200 people and operates 21 radio stations in 5 states. They began operations in the early 50’s with a single radio station in Bristol, Virginia. Mr. “Pete” Nininger grew the broadcasting company to its current multi-state operation and upon his passing in 2006 was succeeded by his daughter, Lisa Nininger Hale as CEO. Under her direction Bristol Broadcasting Company will complete the new addition to their facilities in the Paducah Market. Bristol Broadcasting operates nine radio stations in the Paducah Market. News Director Donna Groves received in 2008 her 6th award as “Best Reporter in the State”. ABC news named WKYO as one of the six best radio news departments in America. Bristol Broadcasting is also host to the Bristol’s Bridal Expo since 2001 and the Bristol Women’s Expo since 2005.
