In Memory of Sam Carlick, Of Counsel

Samuel Carlick of Rockville, Md., died on Thursday, May 17, 2007.
Mr. Carlick was born on Nov. 29, 1920, in Paducah , the youngest son of Ben and Helen Carlick. He had two brothers, who predeceased him, Harry Carlick and Edward Carlick. Another brother died in infancy.
Beloved husband of Jean Meyers Carlick; devoted father of Bethany Carlick (David) Weinstein; loving uncle of David, Benjamin and Jeff Carlick and Susan Cooper; dear great-uncle to Scott and Martin Cooper. Also survived by several cousins.

In addition to the family members listed, he also is survived by his beloved Scottish terriers, Merrie and Fergus, and his grandanimals, golden retriever Nala and the six-toed cat Olivia. Mr. Carlick was a member, officer, and religious school teacher at Temple Israel.
After serving as an officer in World War II, during which he spent nearly a
year as a prisoner of war, he graduated from University of Kentucky School
of Law. His long career in the legal profession included many years of public service as Paducah City Judge and McCracken County Attorney. Most recently, he was of counsel at Denton & Keuler. He was also active in numerous civic organizations.
Since retiring, he and his wife have lived in the Washington , D.C. , area, near their daughter and son-in-law, but he always considered Paducah home.
Interment services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, 9 a.m. at Arlington National Cemetery , Arlington , Va. Procession to form at Memorial Gate.
